Bayer: recruits strategy expert to management board

(CercleFinance.com) - German chemical and drug giant Bayer is reinforcing its transformation capacities with the appointment of a former McKinsey consultant to its management board.


The pharmaceuticals group, which is seeking to accelerate the transformation it has begun, said on Monday that Sarena Lin will become the company's chief transformation and talent officer on 1 February.

In her new position, Lin will be responsible for human resources, strategy and business consulting and drive the accelerated transformation of Bayer, the company said.

Lin is currently the executive vice president of corporate strategy and global marketing at animal health company Elanco.

Before joining Elanco, she worked at consulting firm McKinsey and Minnesota-based agriculture company Cargill.

"We are delighted that Sarena Lin will strengthen the Bayer board of management with her global experience, strategic expertise, leadership skills and ability to lead large-scale transformations," said Norbert Winkeljohann, the chairman of Bayer's supervisory board.
