Bayer: new head of pharmaceuticals business development

(CercleFinance.com) - German drug and chemical giant Bayer has named Johnson & Johnson's Marianne De Backer as head of its pharmaceuticals business development and licensing.


Based in Berkeley (California), De Backer will lead the company's external pharmaceutical growth strategy and activities in the areas of pharmaceutical innovation and alliance management, Bayer said.

De Backer joins from J&J, where she recently held the position of vice president of M&A operations and divestitures for the pharmaceuticals unit.
