adidas: collaborates with 'Battle of the Sexes' star

(CercleFinance.com) - adidas is collaborating with Billie Jean King, an American former World No.
1 professional tennis female player who famously beat a male tennis champion in the 1970s.

Today, the German sports apparel maker is releasing the Billie Jean King Speedfactory shoe AM4BJK - an homage to the famous blue adidas suede shoes the female tennis player wore 45 years ago, although modernised using adidas' innovative production method.

In 1973, at age 29, King won the "Battle of the Sexes" tennis match against the 55-year-old Bobby Riggs.

300 pairs will be available at the adidas US Open store, select adidas performance stores in NYC and on adidas.com.
