Hannover Re: stock to join DAX index

(CercleFinance.com) - Qontigo announced on Thursday evening that Hannover Re will join the DAX, the flagship index of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, from 21 March, replacing Siemens Energy.


The reinsurance specialist's share price has fallen by 13% YTD, although this is slightly better than the 15% annual decline posted by Siemens' energy subsidiary, whose share price has never really taken off since its first listing in September 2020.

Its market capitalisation now stands at 17.4 billion euros, compared to 14 billion euros for Siemens Energy.

Qontigo also announced yesterday that Daimler Truck would also join the DAX index on 21 March, replacing Beiersdorf.

Qontigo, created in 2019 following the merger of Axioma, DAX and STOXX, is part of the Deutsche Börse Group.
