Lufthansa: dividend policy set to be changed
(CercleFinance.com) - Lufthansa plans to enable shareholders to participate "more substantially" in the group's results, aiming at distributing between 20% and 40% of its net income through dividends, the German airline group said on Monday.
For the financial year 2018, the group paid a dividend of 0.80 euro per share to shareholders, representing a total dividend of 380 million euros or 12.8% of its operating profit (EBIT) for 2018.
In the medium term, Lufthansa also plans to raise its free cash flow to at least 1 billion euros a year, the company said at its Capital Markets Day.
However, the Lufthansa share did not seem to react much to this news, down about 1.3% in late afternoon trading on Monday.
