Volkswagen: group sales drop in March
(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen Group sales fell by 23% in the first quarter and at an even faster pace than in March, highlighting the German carmaker's difficulties in selling cars during the coronavirus pandemic.
The group's deliveries - including its flagship brand Volkswagen and upmarket division Audi - slumped 37.6% to 623,000 vehicles in the past month, VW said on Friday.
Sales fell particularly sharply in Western Europe, dropping 44.6% year-on-year in March, while deliveries in North America dived 42%, the auto giant said.
