Wirecard: shares rise after Markus Braun's comments

(CercleFinance.com) - German payments solutions specialist sees share price rise more than 4% in Frankfurt this morning.


In a video published on the group's website, CEO Markus Braun presented his best wishes for 2020. In particular, he recalled the group's expansion into China and the partnership concluded with Japanese conglomerate Softbank.

Braun took advantage of the opportunity to underline the strength of Wirecard in 2019 and evoked "strong prospects" for 2020.

2019 was also marred by bad press regarding Wirecard account management. Once again, Markus Braun denied allegations saying they were without foundation. An independent firm is currently carrying out an audit of the situation and should contribute to restoring investor confidence, he added.
