Siemens: equips offshore wind farm on German coast

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Energy is supplying an offshore wind farm for the first time with its control system, which has been established in conventional power plants.


The system will be the "brain" of the 900-megawatt EnBW He Dreiht wind farm being built on the northwestern German North Sea coast.

Siemens Energy is also providing the core IT network, including cyber security solutions, and has a long-term service contract with EnBW.

The expansion of renewable energies will help to ensure that at least half of the group's production portfolio will come from renewable energies by the end of 2025, EnBW said.

It isn't too windy today though - the Siemens share is currently up about 0.5%, although this is about twice the German market.
