Siemens: issues two bonds in wake of strong demand

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens said that it has raised about 5 billion euros on the debt market after receiving strong demand from investors seeking returns in the current low rate environment.


On Thursday the German industrial group completed a 4 billion euro bond issue, as well as another bond of around 1 billion euros which was issued in pounds (around 850 million pounds).

At more than 10 billion dollars, demand was more than double the issued volume, Siemens said in a statement.

The proceeds of the issuance will be used for general corporate purposes, including the refinancing of upcoming maturities, the conglomerate said.

The Siemens share is currently up 0.7% in Frankfurt.
