Siemens: wins 1.5 billion euro London Underground contract

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens has won a 1.
5 billion euro contract to supply 94 new generation trains for the London Underground, the German industrial group said on Tuesday.

Siemens Mobility has been chosen to design and build 94 new-generation Tube trains to replace the existing fleet from the 1970s. They will serve the Piccadilly line.

Deliveries will begin in 2023.

Siemens also said on Tuesday that its product life-cycle management software unit has signed an agreement for the digitalisation of research and development activities of Chinese milk powder producer Feihe Dairy.

The agreement also includes simulation and testing, as well as quality monitoring, supply chain management and production execution, Siemens PLM Software said.
