Daimler: Mercedes-Benz launches new training scheme in US

(CercleFinance.com) - Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its training program for technicians, so as to tackle the critical shortage of qualified automotive technicians in the US, the carmaker said on Tuesday.


The luxury unit of German automobile giant Daimler has struck up a partnership with Jefferson Community & Technical College (JCTC) in Louisville, Kentucky to prepare students to become Mercedes-Benz certified technicians in just 18 months.

Students will train on Mercedes-Benz vehicles, then becoming interns at Mercedes-Benz dealers and will may be offered full-time employment after completing the program, Mercedes said.
