Merck KgAA: collaboration agreement with Micron

(CercleFinance.com) - The German chemical and pharmaceutical company Merck announced on Wednesday that it has teamed up with US memory maker Micron Technology to develop more sustainable gas supply technologies for the semiconductor industry.


After a year of collaboration, Micron is now testing a "low global warming potential" fluorinated electronics gas developed by Merck researchers.

The next step will be to validate this process as a permanent replacement for the high global warming potential fluorinated gases that are currently used by chipmakers.
