Merck KGaA: partnership with Palantir in cancer treatment.

(CercleFinance.com) - German pharmaceuticals company Merck said on Friday that it has signed a partnership with California-based data analytics and security company Palantir.


Initially Merck will apply Palantir's technology to cancer treatment and patient services.

In practice, the partnership will leverage Palantir's "big data" technology to help Merck develop medicines and commercialize new products.

The deal's financial details were not disclosed.

Merck also announced today another collaboration in the metropolitan area of San Francisco since a second agreement was signed with Stanford GSB, aiming at educating top-level leaders through lectures and practical training.

In addition, Merck says it has signed three further deals with partners in the US, making a licensing deal with Boston-based Vertex Pharmaceuticals, entering into collaboration with Houston-based MD Anderson Cancer Center, and acquiring Seattle-based BioControl Systems.
