Linde: agreement to buy helium with Gazprom

(CercleFinance.com) - Linde has announced the signature of an agreement with Gazprom for the purchase by the German group of "significant" volumes of helium that will be produced at an upcoming Gazprom plant in Far East Russia.


This helium plant that is being built will start production at the same time as the extraction of natural gas on the Chayandinskoye field and the gas transport route "Yakutia - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok".

Linde said that helium is used in a wide range of applications, including the manufacture and operation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners, as well as the manufacture of semiconductors, LCDs, and fiber optic cables.
