Deutsche Börse: takes majority share in advisory firm ISS

(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Börse said on Wednesday that it will acquire a majority share of approximately 80% in ISS, as part of a deal valuing the independent shareholder advisory firm at nearly 2.
3 billion dollars (around 1.9 billion euros).

The German stockmarket operator said the businesses of ISS and its own activites are "highly complementary", offering potential for revenue synergies in ESG, notably thanks to the analytics capabilities of its index provider Qontigo.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2021

Genstar Capital and current management will continue to hold about a 20% stake in ISS, Deutsche Börse said.
