Fraport: Frankfurt August passengers up 1.7%

(CercleFinance.com) - German airport operator Fraport said on Friday that passenger numbers at Frankfurt airport, its main hub, rose 1.
7% in August to 6.9 million.

With 46,395 takeoffs and landings, Frankfurt's aircraft movements remained pretty much the same as in August 2018, the group said.

However, the amount of air freight handled at Europe's fourth-biggest hub (airfreight + airmail) shrank by 5.2% to 173,122 metric tons - reflecting the decline in global trade, Fraport said in a statement.

The Fraport share was down 1.8% in Frankfurt after these numbers.
