Deutsche Telekom: Oddo maintains buy rating after TMUS deal

(CercleFinance.com) - Oddo BHF reinstates its "outperform" rating on Deutsche Telekom shares, along with a target price of 23 euros, following the announcement of a satellite connectivity agreement between T-Mobile US (TMUS), the German operator's US subsidiary, and SpaceX.


Most T-Mobile US mobile subscribers will be able to have satellite connectivity directly from their existing handsets in remote areas not covered by T-Mobile's network from 2023 onwards, Oddo said, leaving its forecast unchanged.

While it believes the product is likely to generate negligible traffic, the broker says that the deal is interesting because it confirms that the new LEO constellations are also targeting the mobile market directly to existing handsets and the right frequency.
