Deutsche Post DHL: selects BT to upgrade its network
(CercleFinance.com) - BT today announced that it has been selected to build a flexible, resilient and secure network for Deutsche Post DHL Group to support its global logistics strength and digitise supply chains in a sustainable way.
The new agreement strengthens the eight-year partnership between both companies and will see BT deploy its technologies for the DPDHL group in 27 countries across Europe, including the UK.
In particular, BT will audit the Deutsche Post DHL Group's existing network to identify and remove copper cables - where possible, replacing them with fiber connections to optimise energy consumption.
BT's networks use 100% renewable electricity and the company uses science-based CO2 emission reduction targets across its operations.
No big deal though - Deutsche Post shares are only just positive today, while BT shares are down over 2%.
