Continental: wants to revolutionise car charging
(CercleFinance.com) - Continental says its development and production arm, Continental Engineering Services (CES), is working with the start-up Volterio to revolutionise electric vehicle charging.
CES is developing a smart robot to make charging electricity much easier and more convenient in the future.
CES and Volterio have therefore formally entered into a partnership, in which Volterio will develop the first systems by mid-2022, ahead of planned mass production in 2024.
The fully automatic charging solution consists of two components: one unit in the underbody of the vehicle and another on the garage floor.
As soon as the car is parked, both components automatically connect via a smart system, enabling automated charging.
