Continental: automated driving off on its own

(CercleFinance.com) - German automotive supplier Continental announced on Tuesday that its assistance systems and automated driving business will become an independent division as from next year.


In a statement, Conti explains that the "Autonomous Mobility" division will mainly combine its existing businesses in advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS).

The move comes as the autonomous driving market is set to more than double over the next three years.

In this respect Continental says that orders in this area exceeded nine billion euros between 2018 and 2020.
