Deutsche Bank: HNA cuts stake to 6.3%

(CercleFinance.com) - Chinese conglomerate HNA has cut its stake in Deutsche Bank to 6.
3%, according to a filing with US market regulators.

HNA, which has stakes in 18 aviation companies and operates 41 hotels, is still one of the biggest shareholders of the German banking giant, alongside BlackRock (5%) and US hedge fund Hudson (3.1%).

"We think that the disposal is part of the Chinese group's strategy aiming at reducing leverage - and has nothing to do with a change of view on the bank," analysts at Bankinter said.

HNA's stake in Deutsche Bank is handled through Luxembourg-based asset manager C-Quadrat.

The Deutsche Bank shares were pretty flat in Frankfurt this Monday.
