Nestlé: blockchain pilot for supply chain transparency

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss food giant Nestlé said on Wednesday that it would improve supply chain transparency through a collaboration with blockchain platform OpenSC, that enables consumers to track their food right back to the farm.


The initial pilot scheme will trace milk from farms and producers in New Zealand to Nestlé factories and warehouses in the Middle East, the group said.

The technology will later be tested using palm oil sourced in the Americas.
