Nestlé: spending 154 million dollars on Mexico factory

(CercleFinance.com) - Nestlé will spend 154 million dollars to build a new coffee factory in Veracruz, Mexico, aiming to use 100% renewable electrical energy.


The plant aims to process 20,000 tons of green coffee annually, using state-of-the-art processing equipment and green technologies to reduce water and energy consumption.

In the initial phase, the Swiss company will create 250 direct jobs and 2,500 indirect jobs, as well as 1,500 new jobs during the factory's construction.

The Vevey-based company plans to create 1,200 direct jobs and 12,000 indirect jobs eventually.
