ABB: operational after IT security incident

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB has announced that it has had to deal with an "IT security incident" that affected some of its systems.


ABB has launched an investigation, engaged leading experts, informed certain law enforcement and data protection authorities and implemented measures to contain and assess the incident. According to the company, the incident has been successfully contained and all key ABB services and systems are operational.

ABB has determined that an unauthorised third party accessed certain ABB systems, deployed ransomware and exfiltrated some data.

The company is working to identify and analyse the nature and scope of the data involved and is further assessing its reporting obligations.
