ABB: deal with Axpo in 'green' hydrogen in Italy
(CercleFinance.com) - ABB has announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Swiss electricity group Axpo to develop modular green hydrogen production plants in Italy.
Both companies will apply their complementary skills to realise their shared vision of more affordable green hydrogen, ABB says.
Production cost is currently a major barrier to the adoption of green hydrogen, which remains 2-6 times more expensive than hydrogen produced from fossil fuels.
The partnership will combine ABB's expertise in automation, electrification and digital technology with Axpo's experience as an established energy supplier, it said.
