ABB: strengthens prognostic capabilities with acquisition

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB said it has strengthened its prognostic capabilities with the acquisition of Swiss software company Cassantec.


The new features include asset performance management solutions enabling operators to monitor and diagnose capabilities in the future, at both a fleet level and in terms of individual assets.

Cassantec's technology accurately predicts 99% of equipment malfunctions with a time horizon of up to five years, ABB said.

Cassantec - based in Berlin and Zurich - joined ABB's consolidation scope in the third quarter of 2019.
