ABB: wins 100 million dollar order from train manufacturer

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering company ABB said on Monday that it has won a contract worth more than 100 million dollars from Swiss train manufacturer Stadler for advanced traction technologies.


Under the terms of the deal, ABB will supply equipment for over 160 trains serving urban, regional and long distance routes in Europe and the US.

ABB said the technologies, which will power electric trains, will be lighter and more compact than other systems on the market.
