ABB: order for Hornsea Two project

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB says it has won an order worth over 150 million dollars from Denmark's Ørsted (formerly Dong Energy), for power transmission technologies for the Hornsea Two project, which is set to be the largest offshore wind farm in the world.


Representing 1,400 megawatts, this project will use wind resources from the North Sea, some 100 km off the coast of Yorkshire, England. It should produce enough green electricity to meet the needs of over 1.3 million households a year.

The order is registered for the second quarter of 2018 and constitutes the first part of a five-year framework agreement for the supply of electrical and automation equipment for wind energy.
