Holcim: divests business in Brazil

(CercleFinance.com) - Holcim announces an agreement with CSN (Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional) to sell it its business in Brazil for an enterprise value of 1.
025 billion dollars, in a sale which strengthens its balance sheet and significantly reduces its gearing.

The Swiss building materials supplier says that the scope thus transferred includes five integrated cement plants, four grinding stations, six aggregate sites and 19 ready-mixed concrete factories.

"This divestment is another step in our transformation to become the global leader in innovative and sustainable building solutions giving us the flexibility to continue investing in attractive growth opportunities", CEO Jan Jenisch said.
