Bombardier: contract to revamp Eurotunnel shuttles

(CercleFinance.com) - As part of its "Mid-Life" program from 2018 to 2026, Getlink has said that its subsidiary Eurotunnel has signed a contract for the refurbishment of nine "PAX" shuttles with the Canadian group Bombardier Transport.


With a length of 800 metres and comprised of 254 cars in all, these shuttles enable passenger cars to cross the English Channel in 35 minutes without passengers needing to leave their vehicles.

The Channel Tunnel operator said that this 7-year contract, is worth 150 million euros (171 million US dollars) and that train deliveries will be made between mid-2022 and mid-2026.
