Blackberry: former Cisco exec appointed COO

(CercleFinance.com) - On Monday BlackBerry announced the appointment of Bryan Palma, former senior executive of network technologies giant Cisco Systems, as its new chief operating officer (COO), reporting directly to CEO John Chen.


In his role within the Canadian group, he will oversee BlackBerry Technology Solutions, Enterprise Software and Services and Mobility Solutions, while intellectual property and licensing activities will continue to be operated separately.

Bryan Palma brings to BlackBerry nearly 20 years of cumulative experience at big corporations, such as Cisco, Boeing, Hewlett Packard, PepsiCo and the US Secret Service.
