Solvay: partnership with Baker Hughes

(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay announces a partnership agreement with Baker Hughes to develop solutions using thermoplastic composites in flexible pipes and offshore risers for the oil and gas industry.


The collaboration with Baker Hughes is a milestone in the group's strategy to expand the use of thermoplastic composites to new markets, said Augusto Di Donfrancesco, Solvay Executive Committee member.

The Belgian chemist points out that thermoplastic composite pipes are flexible and weigh significantly less than conventional equipment, making the installation and connection of new equipment faster and less costly.
