Engie: cements its renewable energy goals

(CercleFinance.com) - French energy group Engie reflected today, at an Investor Day organised in London, on the prospects of its renewable energy division.

Further to its announcements at the Investor Day on 28 February, the group indicates that it has installed 1.3 gigawatts (GW) of renewables capacity in the first half of 2019 and that 7.2 GW are “currently under construction or secured”.

Engie plans to invest a net amount of approximately 2.5 billion euros in this segment between now and 2021. The core operating income compound annual growth rate is anticipated to be between 8-11% between 2018 and 2021, with between 8 and 11% equally for hydro, and 10 to 13% for wind and solar.

“There is a huge growth potential on the global renewables market and ENGIE is in a unique position to capture this to deliver value”, declared Executive Vice President Gwenaëlle Avice-Huet.
