Whirlpool: under expectations in Q3.
(CercleFinance.com) - Whirlpool has disappointed, with the group last night reporting lower-than-expected EPS in Q3 of its fiscal year.
Although EPS has risen by 16% over one year to 3.72 dollars, against 3.1 dollars over June-September 2016, EPS reached 3.83 dollars on a diluted basis, i.e. 7 cents less than the consensus.
Sales of the US home appliance giant rose 3% to 5.42 billion dollars, although the consensus was expecting slightly more at 5.49 billion dollars.
Following these results, which fell short of estimates, Whirlpool has reduced its adjusted FY EPS estimate, now expecting between 13.6 dollars and 13.9 dollars, against 14.5 dollars to 15 dollars previously forecast.
