Walgreens: year off a good start
(CercleFinance.com) - Unveiled before Wall Street opened on Thursday, Walgreens' first-quarter accounts included EPS of 81 cents, down 16 cents year-on-year.
Excluding extraordinary items, the US pharmaceutical group's EPS however reached 1.28 dollar, or 2 cents more than expected by economists.
Similarly, sales rose by 7.9% year-on-year to 30.7 billion dollars, against 30.4 billion dollars predicted by the consensus.
Walgreens expects EPS of 5.45-5.7 dollars for its new fiscal year.
