Walmart: completes sale of Seiyu in Japan
(CercleFinance.com) - KKR and Rakuten announced on Monday that they have completed their purchase of shares in the Japanese retailer Seiyu from the US retail giant Walmart.
Under the agreement, the US private equity giant KKR now controls 65% of Seiyu, while Rakuten, a Japanese e-commerce specialist, holds a 20% stake.
Walmart retains a residual 15% stake in the retailer.
