Walmart: now limiting the number of customers in stores
(CercleFinance.com) - US retail giant Walmart is now limiting the number of customers in its stores as the COVID-19 virus continues to spread in the country.
The company said its stores now allow no more than five customers for each 1000 square feet at a given time, or roughly 20% of its stores' capacity.
To manage the restriction, employees have to mark a queue at store entrances and direct arriving customers there, where they will be admitted one-by-one and counted.
Once a store reaches its capacity, customers will be admitted inside on a "1-out-1-in" basis, Walmart said.
