Walmart: to begin taking the temperatures of employees
(CercleFinance.com) - Walmart has decided to begin taking the temperatures of its employees as they arrive at work in stores, as well as asking them some basic health screening questions, the US retail giant said on Tuesday.
Any employee with a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees celsius) will be sent home, asked to seek medical treatment if necessary, and told to not return to work until they are fever-free for at least three days, it said.
The company said it is in the process of sending infrared thermometers to all locations over the next 1-2 weeks.
Walmart said it will also make masks and gloves available for employees who want to wear them.
