Walmart: raise FY targets beats consensus
(CercleFinance.com) - Walmart has raised its full-year adjusted EPS target range to 4.
90 dollars to 5.05 dollars (vs. 4.75 dollars and 5 dollars previously), expecting sales growth of around 2% at constant exchange rates, vs. a previous range of between 1.5% and 2%.
In its second accounting quarter, the retail giant earned adjusted EPS that was up 19.4% to 1.29 dollar, 7 cents above the consensus, despite reporting operating profit that was down 3.7% at 5.75 billion dollars.
Revenues increased by 3.8% to 128 billion dollars (+3.6% excluding FX factors), including a 4.5% increase in like-for-like sales for Walmart in the US, which is the strongest in over ten years.
