Walmart: exceeds expectations in Q2.

(CercleFinance.com) - Walmart posted EPS that was down nearly 21% to 96 cents for its second quarter, although at 1.
08 dollars, EPS adjusted for extraordinary items exceeded the consensus by one cent.

Revenues increased by 2.1% to 123.4 billion dollars (+2.9% excluding FX factors), including 1.8% growth at constant stores for Walmart in the US, thanks to a 1.3% increase in store traffic.

The world's largest retailer has also highlighted the strength of its online sales, with a gross volume of merchandise (GMV) that is up 67% at Walmart US, boosted by the organic growth of its website Walmart.com.
