Paramount Global: Q1 EPS down 61%
(CercleFinance.com) - Paramount Global (formerly ViacomCBS) has reported a 61% drop in adjusted EPS from continuing operations for Q1 2022 to 0.
60 dollar and a 44% drop in adjusted OIBDA to 913 million dollars.
The parent company of CBS, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, amongst others, saw its revenues slip 1% to 7.33 billion dollars, weighed on by a calendar effect linked to the broadcasting of Super Bowl LV a year ago - without this revenues would have risen 5%.
However, the media and entertainment group highlighted the strength of its direct-to-consumer business, with its streaming subscriber base increasing by 6.3 million in the quarter to over 62 million.
