In an opinion issued on Wednesday, the European Commission found the joint takeover of the Italian group DeA Broadcast by Viacom and DeA Editore to be compliant with legislation in force.
According to the wording adopted, it considered that the transaction did not contravene competition laws in force, given that DeA Broadcast only has a marginal business in Europe.
