Verizon: opens 5G lab in London
(CercleFinance.com) - US telecom giant Verizon has said that it has opened a new lab in London - the company's first 5G-enabled facility outside the US - to support its international business.
Verizon's lab in central London offers a live Verizon 5G environment where customers can test 5G applications, the phone company said.
5G's potential includes autonomous vehicles, virtual healthcare, smart manufacturing, the industrial Internet of Things, or immersive education.
In addition, Verizon plans to open a 5G production studio in London in April 2020 to complement the lab facility, with the aim of producing premium quality, 3D content including virtual and augmented reality experiences
