Verizon: shares rise after dividend hike

The US telecommunications group today announced a quarterly dividend of 61.50 cents per share, up 1.25 cent per share, or 2.1%, from the previous quarter.
The quarterly dividend is payable on 1 November to shareholders on record at the close of business on 10 October.
This is the 13th consecutive year that Verizon has increased its quarterly dividend.
