UnitedHealth: beats consensus in third quarter

(CercleFinance.com) - UnitedHealth has reached adjusted EPS of 3.
51 dollars for the past quarter, surpassing consensus by approximately forty cents, for revenue growth of 8% to 65.1 billion dollars, driven by its Optum subsidiary (+21%).

Profit from activities fell 6% to 4.7 billion, reflecting “the extensive consumer and customer financial assistance measures undertaken by the Company, as well as direct COVID-19 care and testing costs and broader economic effects”.

The insurance and healthcare giant does however consider that “care patterns disrupted by the pandemic moved closer to normal levels”, anticipating that the adjusted EPS will be maintained at between 16.50 and 16.75 dollars for 2020, and no longer between 16.25 and 16.55.
