UnitedHealth: agreement to acquire Diplomat
(CercleFinance.com) - UnitedHealth Group announces an agreement whereby its subsidiary OptumRx will acquire Diplomat, a specialty care services provider, for a price of four dollars per share, in addition to the company's debt.
Diplomat offers expertise in the management of specialty drugs that treat patients with complex diseases, such as oncology and immunology, and specialized infusion therapies, throughout the United States.
The transaction has received unanimous support from Diplomat's Board of Directors. Shareholders representing approximately 23% of the company's capital have already agreed to tender their shares to UnitedHealth's offer.
