UnitedHealth: new CEO from 1 September.
(CercleFinance.com) - UnitedHealth Group has announced that David Wichmann will succeed Stephen Hemsley as its new CEO, joining the board of directors from 1 September.
On the same date, Stephen Hemsley will assume the newly created position of executive chairman of the board of directors, while the current chairman, Richard Burke, will become the company's principal independent director.
David Wichmann joined the American health insurance group in 1998 and served as CFO from 2011 to mid-2016. He has been in charge of the group's main subsidiary UnitedHealthCare since 2014.
