UPS: FAA approves of drone flights
(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday evening, UPS and its subsidiary UPS Flight Forward announced that they have received from the US Civil Aviation Authority (FAA) a first Part 135 Standard certification to operate drones.
The logistics and mail group will initially extend a drone delivery service to hospital campuses across the US, and more broadly provide solutions to customers in the healthcare sector.
"UPS Flight Forward plans in the future to transport a variety of items for customers in many industries, and regularly fly drones beyond the operators' visual line of sight," it said.
