3M: test measures effectiveness of household cleaning
(CercleFinance.com) - 3M, through its Scotch-Brite brand, and Phylagen, a biotechnology company specialising in microbial life, are launching "Clean Scan", a solution to measure the effectiveness of domestic cleaning.
Clean Scan checks microbial levels in common areas of the home with swabs that will provide users with information about the cleanliness of their home and the effectiveness of their cleaning routine.
The Clean Scan laboratory will analyse the samples and customers will receive their results within three days of receiving the kit from the laboratory.
To date, scientific data collected by 3M and Phylagen shows that one-third of US homes tested had traces of human faecal matter in the kitchen or bathroom... Traces that persisted in 50% of cases after cleaning.
