3M: files patent infringement lawsuit on touchscreens
(CercleFinance.com) - 3M has said that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against its South Korean rival, Tovis and the US gambling products company, Scientific Games Corporation.
The suit alleges that Tovis' touch display products - which are used by Scientific Games in their gaming machines - infringe four of 3M's US Patents.
Earlier this year, 3M filed a similar patent infringement lawsuit against US touchscreen monitor maker Elo Touch Solutions.
3M's metal mesh conductors are used in curved and flat sensors for casino slot machines, consumer tablets and convertible devices, as well as for digital signage and interactive whiteboards and conferencing systems.
